1. Once "My So Called Knife" is released, do you have any tour plans? DeadGreg: We will be playing the CD release party in our hometown, Toledo,OH on Saturday, June 1st at the Hard Hat Concert Hall. We're working with our booking agents to be on tour when the album comes out.
2. How long have you been involved with music? DeadGreg: I started playing guitar at the age of 14, but always listened to metal and punk music for as long as I can remember. I was in another local Toledo band before creating LLK with Pill and D. Human.
3. Who influenced you the most to dream yourself to where you are at the current moment? DeadGreg: Metallica, Acid Bath, Prong, Slayer, Overkill, Anthrax, The Misfits, Danzig, Ministry, AC/DC, Clutch, Sepultura...etc.
4. Describe your hometown of Toledo and does the way it is have anything todo with your music? DeadGreg: Toledo is a typical mid sized midwest city. Everybody knows eachother here. I guess the benefit of not being from a larger musical market like New York, or LA is that we get more attention in our hometown. We would be one of many bands in bigger cities.
5. If you were to run in to somebody who has never heard Lollipop Lust Kill, what tracks off of the album would you recommend? DeadGreg: Father, Like A Disease, Can't Get Away, Sad Excuse For A Grip...those are my favorites from the new album.
6. What do you think has been your biggest accomplishment as a musician? DeadGreg: Although getting signed was huge, I always knew we would get signed. I'd have to say perservering through some rough times with the rest of the band members to be where we are today is our biggest accomplishment. We went through a few member changes, and almost broke up a couple of times. But the hard work finally paid off, and here we are today - releasing our major label debut, and getting ready to tour the country.
7. What do you plan on releasing as your first single and will you make a video? DeadGreg: "Like A Disease" will be our first single from the record. I guess whether we make a video or not depends on how well we do in sales. We'll see I guess.
8. Why did you decide on the "boy next door" persona? DeadGreg: Because like D. Human said, the scary people in real life look like you and me.
9. If you had to describe the band in a single sentence what would it be. DeadGreg: Abusive, dark, thought provoking Murder Rock from Toledo, Ohio.
10. Its 2:00 am, you get a call that LLK has been certified platinum. Who,if anyone do you call first? DeadGreg: I call a few people from Toledo and tell them to fuck off.
11. Now that you have been certified platinum, Artemis has offered you xamount of dollars for you to headline a dream tour. You chose the bands andthe tour name...What do you call it, and who's performing?
DeadGreg: The Candy Canes & Razor Blades tour featuring: Lollipop Lust Kill,Slayer, Acid Bath, and Sepultura.
12. What seperates LLK from the rest of the music out there? DeadGreg: Our ability to tell a story through songs, and our work ethic to succeed.
13. Where do you want to see the band this time next year? DeadGreg: Healthy, happy, and successful on the road.
14. Currently who are you listening to most? DeadGreg: Right now I'm listening to a lot of Glassjaw, Hatebreed, Thursday, 36 Crazyfists, The Haunted, Converge, Pig Destroyer, and Burnt By The Sun.
15. Who is the coolest band you've done a show with? DeadGreg: We did a show with Clutch back in 94. Great guys. Great band.
16. Why did you decide to cover Personal Jesus? DeadGreg: The other guitarist in the band, Pill, thought of the idea of doing it. With me being a Depeche Mode fan, I was all for it. When Pill told the rest of the band his ideas for re-doing the song, they all agreed that it would be a great idea.
17. Has it sunk in that you guys have a Record being relaesed in a couple days and how does that feel?
DeadGreg: It definitley hasn't sunk in yet. It still feels like we're thesame local band that has a lot of work to do. Only the hard working bands succeed, and we have a very strong work ethic. We're never satisfied, and never settle for anything. We just keep on working.
18. Whats the coolest or oddest thing a fan has done to meet the band. DeadGreg: The coolest thing is all of the fans that have our logo tattoo'd on themselves. The oddest has to be the 3 girls holding up pictures of Jesus during our set at Metro in Chicago.
19. If you could be anything else besides in a rock band what would it be? DeadGreg: Maybe a record producer, or even a high school history teacher.
20. What is your favorite song to play live? DeadGreg: Can't Get Away
21. Which song has the most meaning to you and why? DeadGreg: Probably Father, but not because of what it means to me. It has alot of meaning for Evvy, our singer and the person that wrote the lyrics tothat song.
21 Which do you prefer
Coke or Pepsi?
Tie or Suspenders?
Eyeliner orNailpoish?
M&Ms or Skittles? DeadGreg: Pepsi, Tie, neither, and M&M's.
22. How do you eat an oreo? DeadGreg: Kill it first. Then bury it.
